Nymfes village is located in the northern part of Corfu island, at a distance of 33 km from Corfu Town. It takes about 50 minutes to reach the village of Nymfes from the airport. It is built on the side of a small valley of Mount Pantocrator at an altitude of 200 meters. The unique vegetation of olive groves, tall cypresses, oaks and plane trees, as well as the numerous streams, create a unique environment. According to a local legend, the settlement’s waterfalls got its name because nymphs (fairies) used to bathe there in antiquity. Nymfes’ settlement is built according to the standards of typical Corfiot architecture with built-in arches and has been influenced by the Venetians, the French and the British.
